something wierd happening

Meh, something feels swollen under my chin. could be lymph nodes. i dunno. it hurts when i touch it but not sure how this happened. i got my tonsils pulled out a few years ago and i figure that can't be the cause, yet when i look in the back of my mouth , one side looks infected a bit. i'm also getting these headaches and body aches all over. i feel so scared now b/c i read these symptoms online that all lead to cancer. i am also afraid of going to the doctor, i'm afraid of what they might say. i'm afraid of these test they might give. i'm so paranoid now, what if this is serious? i'm only 21, i don't want to die from cancer. do you think i'm overreacting?

Relax.

You're probobly just over-reacting at this point, it might just be swollen glands, I've experienced that a few times due to a cold. There's a chance it might be some kind of infection, but those are easily treatable. I wouldn't jump to worrying about cancer. If it doesn't change in a day or two, go see your doctor, whatever it is, your doctor will know what to do about it.

its more than likely not cancerous...ive had swollen glands a bunch of times. swollen glands can be a plethra of things...allergic reactions, beginning of strep throat (which should def be treated asap), as well as tonsilidus (spell check), & even can be a result from a sinus infection.

what happens when glands swell is they get infected somehow. more than likely a bacteria festering in the nose or the mouth & throat starts it all off & when the mucus that runs down the back of your throat to coat your esophugus as you swollow gets mixed in w/ that bacteria it harvests on your glands. & causes them to become swelled w/ fluid.

if they become overly large it has potential to block your wind tunnel & could result in suffocation.

my advice is to see a Doctor its probably nothing too serious that cant be cured or treated. take care of yourself, get some more rest than usual, drink a lot of fluids. both really cold & really hot. hot soups help remedy some infections & cold things like ices or ice cream help bring down swelling.

rest up & see your Doctor.

Its common with some people to get swollen glands when they get a cold or the flu. You also might have strep throat which could cause swollen glands.

Dragongirl is right, treat it with rest and fluids. If you do not improve shortly, then see your doctor.

well..it still feels weird. the pain is mind-boggling, i rubbed an ice on it, but not sure if that has helped, i will go to the doctor if it gets worst, the thing is i always had problems with my throat , but i got my tonsils taken out already and that confuses me why i would have a strep throat or something. etc.

the back of my mouth looks a bit red and infected, so i guess something must be going bad in that location.

go to the dr u may have strep. eat ices & drink gatorade & have a lot of soup. if its too hot it may hurt more. try even gargeling w/ warm salt water. itlls help clear up some bacteria festering in your throat.

go to a doctor b4 it gets worse.
