embarrassing question... tmi warning

A yeast infection usually makes your vaginal canal itchy, right? What if it's just the outside that's itchy?
I've been itchy around the labia, but it's usually only when I'm wearing clothes. Weird, right? =/

If you're not having your typical yeast infection symptoms AND you're only having problems when you're wearing clothing, I'd suspect an allergy.

Have you recently switched brands of laundry detergent/fabric softener?

I don't know what typical yeast infection symptoms are for me actually. =/ I'm not sure if I've ever had one. I probably have, but they've usually gone away on their own. I've never had to get treated for one.

I did switch detergents lately.

You should maybe switch back to your old detergent. In the meantime, you might apply an over-the-counter yeast cream to the affected area- just in case.

Definitely the detergent. Go back to the old or get a no-dye/no-perfume type.

Itchy labia == no bueno
