Horrible abdomen pain!!
Okay so today me and my friends had a concert....everything was perfectly fine. Except during the night I woke up with a sharp shooting pain in my lower abdomen...I'm a female, and I know this isn't menstrual cramps..
Trust me..I know what those feel like..this is NOT it. Anyway..It quickly went away and I fell back to sleep, so I didn't really worry. Well around 4 oclock today...I started to get a stomach cramp..my entire abdomen started to tighten and I felt like I needed to pass gas, but I never was able to...then my entire abdomen started to cramp...and the cramping moved very very low...Right below my belly button and down into my uterus area. The pain hasn't stopped since...I can't even stand up straight..when I stand up the pain is excrutiating....I find it more tolerable to sit, or while bending over. It feels like someone is ripping my insides out...I have no clue what this could be, and it's really frightening me. Does anyone have a clue?? I had a bowel movement..I just have no idea what this could be. The pain has not subsided for HOURS. Not even a little bit... I took Imodium about 3 hours ago, but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?? |

please consult your doctor about the abdominal pain. It might be appendix or gall stones? (Hypothetically). Do you exercise with heavy weights or abs excercises?? there could be a lot of factors and i think you should ask your doctor.

Definately see a physician, or go to the emergency room.

Sounds serious; I'd go to an emergency room. You'll be lucky if it's just bad gas, but it could be as life threatening as an ectopic pregnancy or appendicitis.

Oh well it's defintely not an ectopic pregnancy...I'm a virgin. lol
But I think it may be trapped gas...because...after I actually DO pass gas...pressure releases and the pain goes down little by little. |

As others mentioned it could be appendicitus which is life threatening if not treated.

The abdomen has a huge amount of organs within it so it's always very difficult to determine what the exact problem is, especially in women as they have a few more bits in there. Most people with abdominal pain I would refer to hospital for further examination and testing. With trapped gas you'll usually find that your abdomen is bloated too and the pain can be severe. But it can also disguise other problems.
