Towing toddler and baby around

Hi!

I was wondering how people usually tow a just turned 2 year old and a 7 month old baby around.

We have a car which the bf uses to go to work, and I am left with my 2 children at home without one. I'd like to bring them to the park or other (as the backyard thing is out of limit with all the construction trucks/mud etc...).

I'm trying to avoid buying a double stroller if I can... I have this little wheelbarrow (not the correct term - fisher price apparatus that you pull on wheels), but I'm afraid my older one will jump out of it? I'd also have to put the baby in there... =S
If it goes to the point that I need to buy a double stroller, how long will I use it for? I have a nice single stroller that I paid lots of money for, so I don't really need a new one..

Can you put the baby in the stroller and hold your toddler's hand? I know my son hated the stroller after he could walk. Or why not teach him how to gently push the stroller with his sister in it? I am sure he would love to help.

How about just putting the baby in the stroller and harnessing your toddler so he can walk with you. It will give the older one a chance to burn off some of that energy they seem to have so much of. LOL

Yeah, I think that's what I will try... holding his hand and pushing a stroller at once sounded like a nightmare though o_O! I doubt he will follow properly (he's super adventurous), but may just need some getting used to.

What about wearing the 7 mo old and using the stroller for your toddler? I mean wearing the little one in a sling/backpack/etc. I have a few different carriers that I have used, some were good and some were not so good. They also have instructions online on how to make your own baby wrap with just a length of fabric. The Maya Wrap is a well known name, and they have videos and documents on their site on how to use the ring style sling in a variety of styles.

Here are some links:

I loved wearing my baby, she's only been in a stroller like once or twice in her life. I imagine with two in tow, it would make travelling around a little easier. Good luck!

I do have a carrier.. I didn't think of it.
I had ditched that idea because of winter (she had this huge snowsuit that didnt fit into it).

Now it's spring and I can take her spring coat out so yay!!

Ya a stroller and backpack type for the toddler sounds like a great idea. Although double strollers are very nice. We have the BOB Revolution single and the Duallie when we take our daughter and nephew or another child for a walk
