  1. Not that you should feel miserable if you're alone and/or inexperienced, but I don't think people should will themselves to be happy if they're alone and/or inexperienced. We're human. There's a myriad of things that can depress people. And sometimes, people are just depressed because of a chemical imbalance in their brains. Somewhere there's a lawyer who has no idea how to continue defending his client now that he left an important case file on a bus or in a taxi. Somewhere in Minnesota there's a Vikings fan right now who's bitter about the Vikings losing to the Bears in overtime tonight. Somewhere there are geeks who are miserable about the low prospects of there ever being a Justice League movie. Lack of a significant other can be depressing because people tend to value the company of other people. If we don't value it, then it's not going to bother us. But if you're fine being on your own, have at it. Just remember you're only 21 and there's a LOT to experience in life. Such as credit card debt, late utility payments, cars breaking down right when you have to leave for work, and so on. And I'm not even getting into getting a job or losing one.
