  1. A few new oil paintings who aren't achieved yet. Will post the others tomorow. I'm not that happy with the result because I always tryn to make something photorealistic but I always end up with something cartoonish. Oh well, maybe improvement will come with time. image removed
  2. @Greywolf: When do you know when you're a good singer ? When people tell you ? Because we sound different then heard by yourself. Like most people, I think I sing great in the shower But outside of it ... So you think it's possible to train the voice of a bad singer or is it only gifted for those who have a great voice ? @Quircky: Any new songs on your website recently ? I lost the link so you should post it again As for me, I play flute and chromatic accordeon. I used to drum and play all the percussion instruments too but I think that I've lost the skills now. Together with my friends ( who are all musicians btw ), we intend on forming a gipsypunk band in the future. If you wonder what the hell Gipsypunk is, you might check out video's of "Gogol Bordello" and "Kultur Chock" on youtube. I think that sometimes, words are a barrier for the mind. A barrier that restricts us to the vocabulary we know, and the meaning we give to those words. As for me, music is a way to express that what can't be told by words. When I listen to music, I can often "see" the story that it wants to tell us. If this world should ever come to die, I think that music and art are the two things I gonna miss the most
  3. Haha I definitely recognize this. Have the same problem. Starting tons of things, never finishing them. I guess it's because a creative mind sometimes needs change to stay entertained. At OP: Stanley Kubrik was one of those movie directors that took years to finish his movies ( in a world where hollywood dictates the deadlines ). But his hard work and perfectionism always payed off in the end. Don't make something that feels uninspired. When I need inspiration I read, listen to music, go for a walk or anything like that. Sometimes a great idea just comes in like that. Don't wait when you are thrilled by a great idea, immediately use that positive energy of yours. Or write it down somewhere !
  4. I love this ! Sam as the first poster: Don't change it, you have your own style and you should keep working the same way. If we all changed, all the artists would end up making the same. Good work anyway, I can feel the intensity of the moment =D>

  6. This is another painting, far fom achieved. At first, it was just ment as an exercice to learn how to paint skin ( related to a future project ). But I ended up adding more objects that werent directly related to the arm I first painted. That's also why it doesn't feel like something coherent. At the moment, I don't know what to add next. I was thinking about adding traditional mirror decoration around the "window" and more flowers/plants. It's pretty big so I added some close ups of certain details. 7. Thanks. It must be the only decent abstract work I have. It's also a very impulsive work: The day I made it, I was in a very depressive mood. For me, it was just an obsessive way to release the anger and sorrow that was burning inside me. The colours and forms used in the painting were the best way to express it I think. That's why I always ask people what they see in it. I'm just curious to know if they recognize those feelings in the painting. Usually they answer: "I see trees" -_- What a let down ! Maybe I'll make more in the future. Hopefully it will be about happy feelings ^_^ Are you into steampunk ? I just wonder because you said that you like old world related things. So do I It's hard for me to finish anything, I'm too chaotic: I start alot of projects that I never end. The result of this is that I have plenty of unachieved paintings and drawings all spread all over my house lol. Or do you know that feeling where you start something but you lose your motivation or even worse, your inspiration ?
  8. Thanks alot for all the compliments ! The painting with the tree is just all about the colours that make me happy, really. Blue, green ... too bad that humans are destroying nature. I hope that we'll still be able to watch a radiantblue sky and the green of a shimmering forest in the future. Grey makes me so depressive ... No really, if you have depressions problems, you have to hang out in places with natural colours. Cold tints are good for the mood ! @Waveseer: I'm glad you like it, you must be the first one. But I'm curious and just gonna ask you what I ask everytime when someone takes a look at that painting: What do you see in it ? Atm I'm more into figurative art because I seem to fail at making abstract work most of the time. But who knows, I might give it a new try in the future
  9. Thanks alot It's from the fantasy universe called Warhammer. The character you see is a battle sister and they're indeed based on gothic culture/symbols.
  10. image removed image removed Woops, looks like I will have to resize everything Can anyone help me ?
  11. Here are some of the drawings and painting I make in my free time. Enjoy This is from my sketchbook image removed These are painting. I only started painting a few months ago so I still make alot of mistakes. For example: The eye of the girl is too big so it gives her that retarded look. It's also not finished yet ! image removed image removed image removed
  12. Man sometimes I feel the like you ... but then it's about drawing and painting. I really feel bad when I do something that's already been done. Even if people have positive feedback about it, I don't feel well because it feels like it's not 100% me. On another note, almost everyone has a source of inspiration. There is no artist or writer that hasn't admired someone else, or that wanted to be like his idols. We always use something existing, in order to make new things. The only thing we do is adding some modifications. Maybe you should just write without reall thinking. Go outside, listen to some music and write down what comes into you, even if it doesn't make sense. Let raw feeling and emotion take control over your pen and see what comes out. The gf of my dad has written very profound, complicated and beautyfull poems that way.
  13. You don't have to look at what surrounds you if you want to paint. Ever tryed to paint what you feel ? And just see what comes out ? Doesn't have to look realistic to be called art. Art is just something that is enjoyable to watch, that plays with our emotions. But as far as I know there is nothing else that describes what it should be. Van Gogh once said: "Paint what you feel, and feel what you paint"
