  1. I thought I would share what I have learned and experienced this past year since I joined ENotAlone. I came here after my 3 year relationship ended. I thought it was the end of the world. Pain was unbelievable. I learned your EX is not as good as you envision them to be. I learned that life goes on afterwards, and often for the better. While it took me almost 8 months to get over the ex. the day has finally come where I rarely if ever think of them. I have held NC for 7 months and it has worked wonders. I jumped into a rebound relationship after that. Fun while it lasted (6 months) but I knew she wasn't the one and ended it before I got in too deep. Then I chased a few other women. In the process I learned to not take a women's words too seriously. I learned that actions speak much louder than words. I learned that women also use men just for sex. I learned that relationships are mutual and if you are not getting what you need it is time to move on. I learned that there is nothing you can do to make someone like you. You are who you are. I learned that no matter what someone says, if they don't call you back in a timely manner, if they don't make time for you, there is someone out there that will. And these others are not worth your time. I have recently met a new woman. We see each other once a week. We talk everyday. We don't worry about what the other is thinking or who is going to make the next move. It all just goes smoothly. And if this one doesn’t work out, I am not worried. There will always be another girl and another learning experience. Good luck to you all.
  2. Here is an idea of a recent date (date #2 of the same woman) Picked her up at her apartment. Drove her to the movie theater. Let her pay for my ticket because she lost a bet, but I bought her a drink and candy. The second we sat down I made sure to move the arm rest and hold hands with her. Half way through the movie we progressed to more kino and touching. After the movie we hung out in the mall where the theater is at and took in the xmas scenery. We sat on a couch together and talked about where we were from and things that we liked. Lots of flirting, eye contact and laughter. Since it was a week night and had to work early I told her it was time to get home (10PM). We drove back home, talked the whole time. When we got back. I got out of the car, walked her to the door, and went in for a 1-2 min. kiss. I made sure to pull away before her. Told her I had a good time and would call her.
  3. Smart Lily04. Sounds like you have your head on your shoulders. Just wish there were more woman out there with smarts like this.
  4. Lilly, you can do better. I would either call him out on being a player or just erase his number and move on. There are many other good looking guys out there for you. Don't settle for some one that cancels a first date. If a guy really likes you, he won't cancel.
  5. Wow all those actions sound like the typical "nice guy" that most women say they like but aren't really attracted to them. Flowers on the first date? Saying sorry often? I guess there are different strokes for different folks. It sounds like he is pretty interested in you. Just don't fantasize, make expectations, and get attached to quickly. Good luck with this guy.
  6. For those with more experience than the rest of us: 1. If you could live your 20's over again what would you do differently AND 2. What advice would you give the rest of us who are in their 20's. Thanks
  7. HeckaBekah, just curious. What made you think of him as a "complete gentlemen"? And what sparked your interest about him?
  8. How do you know he will take you back after dropping him??? I had a girl do that to me when I was your age and I really liked her, but I didn't go back to her over a matter of principle.
  9. I wouldn't take off work unless it is real danger to your job. Having the time off will just give you more time to think about the ex and drive you insane. I did that for 3 days after my breakup and got no where. As soon as I went back to work it slow and I mean slowly helped to get my mind off things. It took almost 6 months to go a day where I forgot to think about them for a few hours. And almost a year to not think about them for a whole day. I found it a slow processs, but NC really does speed this up. Good muck my man.
  10. You should have asked for his number or joked something like "you know you want my number" and then he will ask you.
  11. Hold onto NC, get rid of any photos of her and try to meet as many other women as possible.
  12. I would ask him if there is something that he needs to tell you. But even if he confesses and apologizes like a little baby I would not waste a second more on someone that hurts you like this. Cut your losses now and move on. It will be better for you in the long run. And there are much better guys for you out there. I promise you that. Good luck.
  13. I agree with Annie. That is a cop-out. He isn't interested. When I met a girl at the gym that I liked, I got her number on the spot and called her for a hike two days later. We don't hesitate for 3 weeks if we are interested.
  14. Ya that doesn't make much sense sgold. If I was the guy and had any interest in you I would be contacting you back. (actions peak louder than words) And honestly, if I didn't have any interest I would have the respect to let you know. I would not worry about this guy. He is not worth the time.
