Asian guys have the pressure to date asians because 'traditional' asian parents believe white girls are loose sl*tty and will cheat. Whereas its the exact opposite for white guys, the actually encourage their daughter to go be with him for they believe he will make her happy. This is a common double standard which I'm happy to say, my parents don't care much about. I can sorta relate to you about the family thing, however there are the odd times that the family is more open minded and not as conservative, so I wouldn't say you should rule out asians as a whole.

how does some one who's interested in you behave like?

so i was just wondering, how many of you that are attached would go out on a solo date with a member of the opposite gender who you know has interest in you. by that i mean he/she specifically asked you out, or mentioned the word date when asking you out? i ask this cause recently i went out with a girl and just asked for a second date in which she said yes to. now i find out she has facebook, and her status says she's in a relationship... one thing thats bothering me though is in the month span that i have hung out with her the boyfriend (if there is one) has never popped up.. she's not the most outgoing of all people... any advice?

that was actually wat i wanted to do.. something in the afternoon as opposed to night time... i dont think i will tel her today since i'll be seeing her in class tom. anyway. im afraid something might backfire. hopefully something will work out.

ok, so i basically went out with this girl at the beginning of the week. we did the whole dinner and movie thingy and that went pretty well. at the end of the date, i mentioned that we should do this again and she was pretty receptive to it. however i'm not too sure when i should ask her out again. i was thinking maybe this weekend and asking her either today or tomorrow (we have class together). is this weekend too soon for a second date?

you know what you should do, next time a girl does this ask for their boyfriends name and see whether they are caught off guard or not. i heard its one way to see whether she actually has one then again ive never tried it so wat do i know -

in my opinion no. it happened to me once and the feelings werent returned. lots of drama followed and after that i told myself that such a situation will never be repeated again. i think some people can do it, however i know its not possible for me

actually i have to agree with you here about the whole asian mentality thing here. theres quite a few asian students @ my uni here and for some reason one day they were talking about their dream husband and what qualities they would look for in him.. yea i was in that convo for some dumb reason. anyway one thing i noticed was they all wanted him to be rich... the whole handsome and shizzle came later. why obsessed with money so much? im 1.5 generation chinese and i dont get it.... of the cbc's i know, none of them talk that way, infact they all make fun of the chinese (fobs) whether it be accent, mannerisms etc. anyway it sounds to me that you're really hung up on trying to find somebody. where exactly are you finding these materialistic girls anyway? im not sure if richmond is the best place to look, because i've been told by my cousins and friends who live in van city, that they are all materilistic and have more the mentality of the mainland then anything else. and for white girls not liking asian guys, thats bs i find
