Paperback: 320 pages Publisher: 5 Spot (October 20 2005) Costumer Rating: Read an Excerpt Chapter 1: Revenge of the Paste-Eaters Book Description After years of buying exercise equipment which ended up gathering dust on her back porch, Cheryl Peck has decided she is in shape-and her shape is round. Now, in new stories about the kinds of dilemmas and dramas, heartbreaks and joys that make a life, the author of Fat Girls and Lawn Chairs tells the unvarnished truth about her childhood as a grade-school paste eater, being a gay woman in America's heartland, and trying to understand-or, better yet, escape-her relatives. From the time Cheryl asked her mother "Mom-am I beautiful?" and got the answer "God no-whatever gave you that idea," to her sidesplitting take on menopause memory loss, Revenge of the Paste Eaters is ironic, funny, moving, and honest. It's a book for everyone who hated the idea of a senior prom ... and loves the idea of a plus-sized smart mouth thumbing her nose at the world while laughing at herself. About the Author

She printed the first edition of Fat Girls and Lawn Chairs through a friend's publishing and vermicomposting company, figuring that she could always use unsold copies for worm bedding.
