Book Description

Father Paul Keenan is a man familiar with the ways of the soul. A priest for over twenty years, he has helped many troubled persons on his radio programs, Religion on the Line and As You Think. He has interviewed such luminaries as James Redfield, author of The Celestine Prophecy, and bestselling authors Wayne Dyer and Thomas Moore. Now Father Keenan shares wisdom from his own life and the wonderful people God has sent his way... Good News For Bad Days

All of us have bad days in our lives; some seem to have more of them than others. Instead of being mere annoyances or obstacles, our bad days can be the door to discovering a depth and a purpose to our lives far beyond what we may have imagined. Good News For Bad Days opens us up to that deeper dimension, that place called soul, and shows us how we can find there a wisdom and understanding that can change the course of our lives forever.

Father Keenan tells us that spirituality comes in our everyday moments, that we can learn to be alert to the guidance our souls can provide. Illustrating this with references from many faiths, literature, and words of religious leaders, he shares the good news of his own life in chapters that include:

  • Your Soul Is Where You Are. Maria, a young professional woman bedridden with grief over the loss of her mother, learns that, when well-intentioned efforts to "quick-fix" her grief prove fruitless, the advice to "stay in bed" helps her allow sorrow to guide her toward healing and renewed purpose.

  • The Set of the Sails. Blind at birth, young Peter sees that it's not the way the wind blows in life's journey but the way we set our sails in the wind and allow it to direct us. Pursuing a soulful route, Peter has turned suffering into growth and a dynamic vehicle for finding his life's mission.

  • There Is Magic in Boredom. In this chapter Father Keenan encourages us to look for hidden messages, advising us to "sit for a while with our boredom"-and in the stillness of the moment listen to what our souls are telling us.

A book written to show us how to find spirituality while experiencing life's complexities, Good News For Bad Days will help you see life for what it is: the soul's adventure-and a journey toward love.
