Fiji's Natadola Beach, one of the world's best beaches, is now home to the new InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, scheduled to open on June 1, 2009.

The hotel is spread across thirty five acres of tropical gardens in the Natadola Beach and faces a stretch of white natural sand beach on the main island of Fiji, Viti Levu. The beach, which is protected by a reef creating a quiet ocean-facing lagoon, was named as one of the 25 best beaches in the world by Forbes Magazine in 2008.

Rooms: The resort has 216 guestrooms and suites and every room is outfitted with a private terrace or balcony with a tub designed in a Cleopatra style, and day beds for two people. There is a BOSE surround sound system available in all rooms and suites, and the contemporary interiors create the unique elegance that is a major characteristic of any InterContinental resort.

Spa: Located among water fountains and aromatic gardens, the resort's spa is a haven for those who want to relax. Both modern and traditional treatments that are used in the spa are based on local plants and herbs that have been healing generations of people. It also features a Wai Water Zone, where guests are being offered gas, liquid and solid aqua therapy treatments, This also includes Fiji's first Ice Room.

Leisure and entertainment: Entertainment options include 4 swimming pools, with an infinity-edged swimming pool that is for adults only, and a 105-metre activity pool for the whole family. The resort also offers its own on-site dive center, a recreation and beach activities facility, volleyball, Pétanque lawn, yoga deck, the Meke entertainment lawn for both indigenous and cultural performances, a full gym and fitness center, and, finally number of beautiful stores for on-site shopping and tour facilities.

Golf: One of the most exciting features of the resort is on the leisure side - a 7,000 yard Vijay Singh-designed golf courses that, according to the resort's management, would challenge the most sophisticated golfers. With 15 of its 18 holes on the Coral Coast, and up to five different tee-off stages per each hole, the course's stunning location will provide unforgettable pleasure to the players.

Themed dining: Endless possibilities for small and large-group dining, as well as themed and experiential meals. For example, one of the the resort's special offers is a formal dinner for a small group on Navo island in Natadola Bay, facing back toward the beach and resort.

Bars and restaurants: At least 5 restaurants and bars are available on-site, with an extensive range of destination dining options and in-room dining. Top chefs will complement their guests with the freshest local produce and international cuisines that would please any taste on any given day.

Planet Trekkers: This is resort's signature kid's club, created specifically to entertain and inspire little guests with the ages between 3 and 12 years. Designed as a mini-resort for younger individuals, Planet Trekkers is a facility that is supervised by professionals, and provides children with educational activities along with lots of entertainment. The areas are divided into two groups, based on age - between 3 and 7 years, and between 8 and 12 years. Indoor and outdoor club facilities include basketball courts and other sporting equipment.

Before the InterContinental Golf & Spa resort, visitors to Fiji had to travel to the outer islands searching for the archipelago's beautiful beaches, which can take at least additional two days from the journey. InterContinental Fiji, in turn, brings that authentic Fijian outer-island experience to the mainland - and for the first time ever, makes it available for meeting, event and larger-scale incentive groups, said the general manager of the resort, Neil Houghton. "This is a pristine location that InterContinental Fiji will protect, celebrate and share with the world."
