Plastic surgeons are reporting that the number of women who opt for breast enlargements in order to look gorgeous on their wedding day, has drastically increased.

A wedding day for any woman, without a doubt, is the most important and exciting event in her entire life, right up there with the birth of her children. No matter which way individuals of different cultures or traditions celebrate this very special day, the result is that all women want to look their best when it comes to choosing the wedding dress. According to wedding planners, the latest trend in fashion for more slim, revealing and sexier gowns - rather than meringue-style dresses which hide a number of perceived 'imperfections' such as flat chests or large stomachs, makes it more understandable why more and more brides-to-be are now choosing to undergo cosmetic surgery just weeks before the big event. For many, the surgery appears to be the most convenient and relatively easy method to transform into a perfect woman.

The Daily Mail reports that just in the United Kingdom alone, the number of future brides who turn to cosmetic surgery for a relatively easy and quick fix, has raised sharply over the past several months. In fact, it was found that some of these ladies are being rejected surgery at the last moment, because they did not consider the post-operation recovery time in their calculations. It takes around six weeks to fully recover and about three months to see the best results. However, nothing stops women to go forward and do their best in order to look marvelous and explicit on their wedding day.

The findings indicate that since January 2009, the number of women who addressed plastic surgeons for breast implants or liposuction on their hips, thighs or stomach, has raised with almost 75 per cent. Christine Davies, a director of Mya clinic, said that breast augmentations and liposuction on the stomach and hips were required mostly because modern dresses with fluid styles with lots of lace, thin spaghetti straps and no structure at all, show off these areas the most.

SurgiCare, which has 6 clinics across Britain, carried out 105 breast enlargement surgeries in January, but has done 183 so far in the month of April. Of all the surgery patients, 60 per cent underwent the surgery just because of the wedding day. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons reported that breast enlargement procedures rose by 30 per cent from 6,487 in 2007 to 8,439 in 2008.

Implants, augmentation and liposuction are all aimed to correct the body imperfections and help any woman look perfect and fabulous whether it would be in a wedding gown or just a simple everyday dress. However, plastic experts send their warning to ladies to always remember that this kind of surgery requires, as it was mentioned above, nearly six weeks of recovery time, and, depending on each individual case, at least three months to look natural. Therefore, the experts say, leaving surgery for the last moment is certainly not a good idea.
