Weight loss...are you comfortable in your new skin?
Just wondering if anyone out there has lost a lot of weight, only to find out that they're not comfortable in their new skin. I've lost 100 pounds and have kept it off for about 3 years. Although I am slowly getting used to the new body, I still have moments when I don't really know who I am.

So I've lost over 40lbs in 4 months. I lost the first 20 pounds or so right after breaking up with my ex and then shortly after being involved in a serious car accident. Wasn't the best way to lose weight as I basically lived on chicken soup and Jack Daniels for 6 weeks.
Does skin shrink with weight loss?
I've been trying to lose weight for a while now, and have finally fell into a consistent routine. I heard that if you lose weight gradually then you won't have excess skin? Is this true, will my skin shrink as I lose weight? I've lost about 30 pounds in the last two years, after going back and forth with excercise and diet.

This is going to be very much a multi-faceted series of questions and general thoughts. Most of them will be opposing...but this is something a generally struggle with everyday...and I hope some people can give me some good options. First of all I want to take the health equation out of this.
For those trying to lose weight...
For those of you who are trying to lose weight and build muscle, my advice is to not worry about what your weight is as a number, but rather, what you feel best at. The number you read on the scale is the weight of your entire body. That said, if you are building up muscle, definiately do not refer to a scale, because muscle weighs more than fat.
