Hello. Well, I am in a serious situation right now. I met someone online last year, and we have been corresponding intensely for all this time, especially in the past four months. Just four days ago he came out here from England to visit me, and I am utterly devestated at the moment.

I asked a guy out on a date in an email. I honestly thought he wouldn't reply to my email. I didn't check email because I didn't want to face rejection if he replied. (*,) He emailed me setting up a time and place to meet for lunch today. I didn't email him back to confirm our plans because I didn't check my email.
