Advice & Discussions
Pain medication during labor: Pros/cons?
I have heard conflicting information about pain medication during labor. I know it's a tremendous amount of pain and I'm not going into this thinking it won't be, but are there downsides to getting pain medication, such as epidurals, etc. during delivery? If you DID have medication, did it help a lot? Did you have any side-effects? Could you imagine labor without it? Would you do it differently next time? If you DIDN'T have any meds, why'd you make that choice? Would you do it differently next time? I am completely undecided on the subject.
Medication during pregnancy?
Hi, So if you remember my "cutting" thread you will recall that I am not coping in this pregnancy very well. I cried almost all day yesterday for NO APPARENT REASON!!! What the heck eh? So my mother is an RN and says I should talk to my doctor about going on some medication, because the side effects won't be half as detremental as the anxiety I am putting on my baby.
Medication causing dampered ability to love & hampering creativity?
I am in a relationship with someone who has depression/general anxiety/social anxiety/bipolar type I, which are under control by taking Paxil (37mg/day) and Seroquel (150mg/night). He's usually very happy, especially around me. Lately I have noticed that he looks at me and acts like he is in love, but can't say it.
a taste of his own medicine!
How bad is it to give your boyfriend a taste of his own medicine? How effective do you think it really is? Because it seems for me that I can tell him over and over again of things that he may be doing in the relationship that I don't like, and he'll certainly act as though he understands and then the next day he'll do it again.
Medication and sex
Hi, This is my first post here, and after seeing so many people willing to offer help I thought I'd give it a try. I've been on an anti-depressant for a while and my doctor failed to mention that it could have sexual side-effects. I don't know why doctors don't think to mention these things.
